Join us to celebrate the new book "Grit to Grind" with the guest authors Andy Kemmis and Chris Bacon on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the Procrastinator Theater in Bozeman. This stunning 192-page hardcover book, published by Chronicle Books profiles the history of the Montana Skatepark Association and the evolving skateboarding scene across the Treasure State, while offering an inspirational account of grassroots organizing, civic engagement, and the positive impact skateboarding has on youth and communities.This public event will include an author reading, a candid panel discussion with members of the local skate community, a Q&A, and a book signing, with fun door prizes from the Board of Missoula, World Boards, and the Montana Skatepark Association. This is one of many community events and benefit auctions during February to support new skatepark opportunities throughout Montana.
A free event open to all ages, doors open at 5:30 pm, with the event starting promptly at 6:00 pm. This guest author presentation is made possible through the support of the Montana State University Graphic Design program and the Bozeman High School Art Department. The event is at the Procrastinator Theater in the Strand Union Building on the MSU campus, public parking is available in the MSU garage near the SUB.
