Experience an unforgettable evening of art, poetry, and soulful connections at Griot's Garden Open Mic & Showcase. On April 16th, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM (doors open at 6:30 PM), join us at Mulberry Art Studio in Lancaster, PA, for a night that celebrates creativity and community.
Event Special Guest: K-Love The Poet
K-Love the Poet is an award-winning spoken word artist, speaker, and author set to open for hip-hop legend MC Lyte on March 14, 2025, at City Winery Chicago, followed by her headlining show on March 31, 2025.
With raw authenticity and thought-provoking performances, she’s captivated audiences globally—performing for President Barack Obama in 2022 and earning a Lifetime Achievement Award. She was featured on a Malik Yusef album produced by Kanye West and has shared stages with The Last Poets, J. Ivy, Talib Kweli, Common, and Jasmine Sullivan.
Known as the “Mother of the Southside,” K-Love mentors Chicago’s youth, using her powerful words to inspire and uplift. With 300K+ social media followers and millions of views, she continues to be a global voice for healing and empowerment.

Open mic sign-ups begin at 6:30 PM, so bring your voice and share your talent. There will be limited slots available. We highly recommend getting there early to secure your spot on the list.
This event is BYOB (alcohol only), with non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Please note that outside food is not permitted. Tickets are available at www.aconcreterose.com. Don’t miss this extraordinary night celebrating poetry, art, and the power of storytelling in the heart of Lancaster’s thriving arts scene!
Open Mic Participation:
Performers must sign up during the designated time before the event. Slots are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each performer will have a maximum of 5 mins on stage. Please respect the time limit to ensure all participants get their opportunity.
Code of Conduct:
This is a respectful and inclusive space. Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated.
Attendees must follow the host's instructions and maintain a positive, supportive environment for performers and guests.
Photography and Recording:
Griot's Garden reserves the right to photograph or record portions of the event for promotional purposes. By attending, you consent to potentially appearing in event media.
