Join the acclaimed poet, Griot Gabriel and his collective for a performance of Spoken Word to make you think!
Griot Gabriel is a spoken word poet from Manchester whose writing is strongly influenced by Hip Hop and Rap music. His upbringing is rooted in Black urban culture and his Nigerian heritage, and 15 years as a professional youth worker also find a place in his writing. He has been commissioned to work with CHANEL, with his Spoken Word video “Where I’m From’ exhibited at the Metiers D’Art Show, 2023. He has written and performed for Warner Bro’s, on the ‘Black Britain Unspoken’ documentary ‘The Nod’ 2022. He has graced the 2023 Glastonbury festival stage with poetry and Spoken Word, performed at Manchester International Festival 2023 and is alumni to the Factory International fellowship.
