Back for 2025 is the HRRC Grindleford cafe Christmas run!!As usual, the run will start at Rivelin Park and follow the wonderfully scenic route up Rivelin Valley, up Wyming Brook, past Redmires Dams, up to Stanage Pole, along to Higger Tor, down Padley Gorge, ending at the cafe at Grindleford station. We will then dine like Kings before getting the train back to Sheffield for a couple of pints in the Sheffield Tap.
The run is 11 miles in total. If people don't feel comfortable with that distance, there could be 2 or 3 points along the route where people can join in for a shorter alternative.
Non runners (family/injured/can't be bothered) could always get the train out there to meet us for food and then the beers afterwards if they wish.
IT WILL NOT BE A FAST RUN.
The pace will suit whoever is running. No one will be left behind. If lots of people turn up, we might naturally split into groups, but there will be people happy to run at any speed, so please don't be put off by thinking you'll be left behind or holding people up. It's intended as a social event primarily.
We will start at 11am. The run will take about 2.5 hours (ish), so after food we would be getting the train back to Sheffield mid afternoon.
