Grief Webinar - Tending to Your Broken Heart when Someone Dies: Hope for your Healing

Family Hospice, Part of UPMC, is pleased to offer a live webinar featuring world-renowned author and grief educator, Dr. Alan Wolfelt. Offered in partnership with Stevens Family Funeral Home, this webinar is titled “Tending to Your Broken Heart when Someone Dies: Hope for Your Healing” and will be held on Mon., Nov. 18 from 3-6 p.m. at UPMC Altoona. A virtual option is also available.
Dr. Wolfelt has been recognized as one of North America’s leading death educators and grief counselors. His books have sold more than a million copies worldwide and have been translated into many languages. In this event, Dr. Wolfelt will discuss the following topics:

> Exploring the “Ripple Effect” of Grief: Loss of Self, Security, Meaning
> Understanding the Value of Convalescence
> Distinguishing Grief from Mourning
> The Unique Influences on Your Grief
> Describing Potential Dimensions of Your Response
> Identifying the Six Central Needs of Mourning
> Understanding Your Self-Care Essentials
> Hope for Your Healing: Reconciliation versus Resolution

Registration is required for the in-person or virtual option. Seating is reserved on a first come, first served basis. If attending in person, parking is available at the UPMC Altoona parking garage for a $2 fee. The webinar will be streamed in the Rotunda on the sixth floor. If participating virtually, you must provide an email address to receive a Microsoft Teams invite to view the live webinar.
Continuing education credits are available for nurses, social workers and other healthcare professionals. To receive CEUs, create an account at the Center for Continuing Education and register for the course “Tending to a Broken Heart when Someone Dies.”
