About this Event
Grid Modernization in Ontario
Like most jurisdictions, Ontario is planning for significant increases in electricity demand and consequently the capacity of its grid. At the same time, customers are demanding greater capabilities from their grid, increased reliability, and as a society we are making every effort to enable clean energy options to meet energy transition goals. Significant grid modernization investments will be required in order to meet these needs, and expand the growing potential of distributed energy resources to benefit customers. In the U.S. the Brattle Group recently estimated that $1.5 to $2 trillion will be spent by 2030 just to modernize the grid. Come join us as an expert panel discusses what exactly grid modernization investments are, the benefits they can provide Ontario’s grid, and why we need to start making these investments now.
Please join this OEA Speaker Series as Indrani Butany, Spencer Gill & Frédérick Morency provides their expert summary and answers questions on these recently tabled regulations that are sure to impact our evolving sector as we work our way to a net-zero economy in Ontario.
