Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us! From September 15 to October 15, we invite you to experience an art exhibit featuring the work of Eddaviel, a Dominican visual artist and writer.Eddaviel’s art has been showcased in the streets, museums, galleries, and cultural centers of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Haiti, Peru, Argentina, Sweden, Spain, Canada, and France.
His celebrated exhibition GREÑAPUNK—first presented in Chicago in 2022—intertwines Indigenous, African, and European myths in a symbolic, fantastical style, with the afro at its core.
You can meet Eddaviel during the Art Workshop with UW–Whitewater Students on September 23rd, 5–7:30 PM. He will share insights into his creative process and the inspiration behind his exhibition, GREÑAPUNK. A reception will follow the talk. If you would like to participate in the art class that day, please register here: https://www.fortatkinsonclub.org/visual-arts/
The exhibit will be open to the public during office hours, Monday–Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM, as well as during our free community events. Artwork will also be available for purchase.
