Vasario 7 d. (penktadienį), 18.30 val. kviečiame į menininkų Gretos Grendaitės ir Tomo Vosyliaus parodos „Zero Waste“ atidarymą galerijoje „Meno parkas“ (Rotušės a. 27, Kaunas).Vaiko laukimo, gimimo, augimo aplinkybės turėjo įvairių įtakų projektui: vilkino jį laike, bet gilino patirtimis. Galima sakyti, augome parodą kurdami trise. Kartu tragikomiškai išgyvenome neįgalumą užaugti iki idealiai tvaraus vartojimo, nepaisant dedamų pastangų artėti link šio ir utopinio, ir viltingo tikslo. Tai – vieniems spėjusi atsibosti, kitiems – neišvengiama aktualija ypač permąstant žmonijos egzistencijos ribas, kurias daugiausiai stumdo beprasmio karo bei klimato kaitos grėsmės.
Nuo 2009 m. autoironiškai stebint sociokultūrinę aplinką vystome skulptūrinių objektų seriją „Kūno tęsiniai“. Šįsyk tai daugiausia atsitiktiniai radiniai, nepastebimi minios, laikytini atliekomis. Kartais kūriniams pakako ready made raiškos. Kartais mintis skleidėsi perkūrus artefaktus, pavyzdžiui per išpjautą gabalą sienos.
Serija “(Ne)privalomas peizažas” (2018-2025 m.) – apie laikiną savęs primiršimą atitrūkus nuo įprasto šurmulio. Sulėtintas artimos praeities etapas paliko įkyrų refleksą rasti ir į kitą kontekstą perkelti erdvines, žmogaus buvimo ženklų, kombinacijas žaidžiant masteliu. Stebėjimų lokacija (keli žaliausi Kauno parkai, kiemai) virto užburtu ratu, kone privaloma begalybės ženklo trajektorija. Jos ribas siaurino specifiškai kintantis fizinis pajėgumas, savotiški spąstai, pažįstami ne vienai mamai.
Dažnai lankyti gamtovaizdžiai virto terpe šiai priverstinei meditacijai. Ilgainiui įsiterpė ir lėtai mūsų tvarkomo sklypo kaime aplinka. Naujose, vaizduotės perkurtose, erdvėse buvusią žmogaus egzistenciją žymi tik nespėję sudūlėti daiktiniai pėdsakai it monumentai.

On February 7th (Friday), 6.30 p.m., we invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Zero Waste" by Greta Grendaitė and Tomas Vosyliaus at the gallery Meno Parkas (Rotušės a. 27, Kaunas).
The anticipation, birth, and growth of a child brought many influences on this project. It delayed the timeline but enriched the process with lived experiences. You could say the exhibition came to life as a collaboration of three. Together, we confronted, often with a touch of tragicomedy, the impossibility of achieving perfectly sustainable consumption. Despite our best efforts to move closer to this hopeful yet utopian goal, we found ourselves questioning the boundaries of human existence—boundaries increasingly tested by the threats of senseless wars and climate change.
Since 2009, we’ve been developing the sculptural object series The Body Extention, approaching the sociocultural environment with a dose of self-irony. This iteration focuses largely on accidental finds—objects dismissed by the crowd, often considered waste. Sometimes, ready-made materials were enough to complete a work. Other times, the concept developed by reworking artifacts, such as a cut-out piece of a wall.
The series (Non)Optional Scenary (2018–2025) explores this temporary letting go, detaching from the noise of everyday life. A slowed-down phase of the recent past brought a persistent reflex: to find and, through a playful sense of scale, recontextualize spatial moments in the environment. Observation sites—several of Kaunas’s greenest parks and courtyards—became a loop, an almost compulsive infinity symbol of movement. This trajectory was shaped by shifting physical limitations, a familiar trap for many mothers.
The natural environments we visited often became spaces for this enforced meditation. Over time, the slow transformation of our rural property added its own layer to the narrative. In these newly reimagined spaces, traces of human existence—objects not yet eroded—stood like monuments.
