About this Event
Please join us for an event with Gregory Hill on Saturday, December 10th! We will be celebrating his new book Sister Liberty.
About the Author: Gregory Hill was raised on a wheat farm in eastern Colorado. He left for Boulder/Denver as soon as he graduated high school, with zero intention of ever coming back. Twenty-six years later, he lives on that farm with his wife Maureen, writing and making odd music.
About the Book: Their American Dream was simply to survive. It wasn’t simple. Set in 1885, and spanning from France to Indiana, Sister Liberty’s wry absurdism centers on Annie, Euphémie, & young Auguste, three French nationals drawn across the Atlantic by a combination of murderous circumstances and a chance encounter with a group of beneficent religious cultists. Things go about as well as one would expect. With its cast of obedient romantics, mystical nutbags, and adorable cynics, Sister Liberty is the rollicking, thunderous introductory volume of The Stables Family Chronicles. WARNING! THIS NOVEL CONTAINS DESCRIPTIONS OF: whistling, allegorical situations, lesbians, apostasy, and a pleasure wheel.
