Saapato is the music project of upstate NY based multi-instrumentalist Brendan Principato. His work focuses on the intersection of ecology and music, using a distinct blend of manipulated field recordings and lush electronic soundscapes to encourage listeners to reconsider their place within nature. He spent August 2023 in residence with the Alaska State Park Service recording bird migrations and the salmon run outside of Juneau. In the autumn of 2022, he was in residence with the National Park Service on Fire Island, NY documenting “shoulder season” in the rare and rapidly disappearing swale and dune habitats found there. His forthcoming record, Spring at Home was released via Aural Canyon on November 15th and consists of one continuous track that captures the transition from dusk into night beside a pond in upstate New York.

Temportal is an experiential sound event presented by NH-based musician Seth Chatfield, who otherwise writes and performs punk-informed original folk music. They play the gong intuitively and to a set pattern of silent syllables that came to them in meditation. Every performance is unique as subtle elements like humidity and room size and shape all have an effect on the sounds produced. When gong is played in this way without accompaniment, it produces an effect unique to every listener as the layered vibration will interact with the unique physiology of the ear that is different for every body. Here, Chatfield uses the instrument to open a conceptual gateway from this reality to another, commencing with a return to the very heart of the present moment.
Doors are at 7pm and music will begin at 730. All ages, and seating is limited and first come first served.
