About this Event
Greenermind Summit is back for our 12th year! Join us!
? Hosted deep in the majestic redwood forest, Greenermind is one part summer camp, one part unconference, and one part restorative retreat—produced by a passionate community you’re invited to join.
Our days offer a mix of structured activities and unstructured time to relax and explore. There are many kinds of opportunities to play and learn:
- Group meals
- Unconference sessions
- Campfire songs
- Costumes and dance parties
- Group games
- Solo reflection time
- Mindfulness exercises
- Napping inside old growth redwood stumps (no joke!)
- And whatever you’d like to bring!
The entire experience is sourced from the community: you’re invited to create a workshop, lead an activity, or bring anything you’d like to share.
? You'll meet fun, curious, mission-driven people from diverse backgrounds. We are entrepreneurs, educators, designers, dancers, scientists, stay-at-home parents, activists, accountants, children, and change-makers. It doesn't matter what your job title is - you’re invited to step beyond the usual LinkedIn Profiles, set aside your email, breathe fresh air, laugh a ton, and build relationships around topics you’re passionate about.
? The summit is hosted in a rustic lodge and cabins built in the 1930’s.
? We cater delicious healthy meals, and our volunteer crew brings in all of the equipment needed to produce an epic event.
? We welcome kids and families, with programming offered for children over age 5. Your kids will get a camp-like staffed experience in the redwoods while you enjoy your day.
? There’s no wrong way to enjoy Greenermind: whether you attend every possible unconference session (or zero!), wander the redwoods for solo introspection, drop into deep conversation with new friends, or join the spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen—the event is a flexible container to help you source what you need in each moment.
If you have passion to share, if you want to meet new people with shared values, or if you just want to have a digital detox in nature—join us.
? If this is your first time attending Greenermind, you can get a $50 off an adult ticket with the discount code: NewFriend

About Greenermind
Greenermind is a 501(c)(3) with the mission to cohere a mutually supportive community in the work of growth and transformation: personal, professional, social, cultural, ecological. Our principal activity is hosting an annual participant-driven summit to connect, learn and play.
Founded in 2010, the Greenermind Summit is a retreat designed to build community and support each other in personal and professional development. Hosted at a rustic campground deep in the redwood forest, the days are a mix of structured and unstructured time to connect, reflect, work, and play. The exact topics and agenda are emergent based on what the participants bring to explore with the group. The Greenermind Summit started as a project of Net Impact San Francisco, in partnership with IDSA-SF. In 2009, the leaders of Net Impact SF & IDSA-SF were a connected group of mission-driven people who got sick of boring sustainability conferences with bad vibes. So they created the kind of event they wanted to attend: one where you’re invited to bring your full self and explore what’s most meaningful to you. What started as an event has deepened into a community.
The Greenermind Summit is more of a retreat than a conference, but we do nerd-out, connect, and work on the things that are important to us. You’re invited to move your body and wear fun costumes. You can sing, play games, and process feelings. You can stay up until 4am dancing and spinning fire, or talking about mindfulness, afrofuturism, and natural carbon sinks.

Kids
KIDS ARE WELCOME AT GREENERMIND!
⭐ We offer programming during the day for childer over 5 years old. This year our kids program will be led by two teachers. Parents work together to care for children in the evenings.
We have have a page on our website dedicated to bringing kids to Greenermind - where you will find information on activities, safety, planning, and more.
⭐ Kids’ tickets are offered at a subsidized price. This cost helps offsets the cost of the lodging, paid caregivers, and food. We have a limited number of spots available for children so sign-up early! The deadline to sign-up kids is May 25th.
⭐ If your child is under five years old, they are welcome to join us but we cannot offer child care for them at this time. You will have to ensure they are safe and entertained. If there is enough interest to bring young kids, we may be able to help facilitate arranging an additional kids track for children 3-5. Let us know when you register!
Because our lodging costs increase with every person who comes, regardless of age, we ask you to register your young child using the special $60 ticket price.

Mendocino Woodlands
? We are really lucky to get to spend time in this National Historic Landmark. The Mendocino Woodlands is a wood-and-stone work of art built by the Works Progress Administration and the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930’s.
As a Recreation Demonstration Area (Camp David is an East Coast example), the park was built to introduce the public to the wonders of nature through recreation and conservation; The entire park has continued to serve its original purpose virtually unaltered and without interruption since opening in 1938.
You can learn more on their website.
? We hold programming both inside the lodge and interspersed amongst the redwoods!

Lodging
? Most people stay in cabins built during the New Deal. Of America's forty six WPA & CCC Recreation Demonstration Areas, Mendocino Woodlands is one of only two to maintain its historic integrity, artistic significance and original usage.
Cabins house 4 people or 2 people.
? Some people choose to bring tents and find a sweet spot in the woods or by the river to set up! Camping in your car is potentially possible as well.

Ticket Pricing - What and How

Ticket Allocation

We’re almost entirely volunteer-run (we do this because we love it), and tickets are priced at a volunteer-subsidized cost. Over 72% of your ticket cost pays for venue and catering. For transparency around your ticket price, cost per person is about:
Food: 39.7% of the ticket cost goes to providing healthy and nourishing lunches and dinners cooked fresh with fresh ingredients and with care for dietary restrictions.
Venue: 32.9% of your ticket cost goes to the Mendocino Woodlands Campground Association (MCWA) to support their mission to provide the magnificent Camp 2.
Operations: 15.6% of your ticket cost goes to the operations of the event - insurance, Uhaul, supplies, building materials, etc.
Planning: 8.8% of your ticket goes to support the planning team with nourishment, supplies, and support during the planning of the event
Web Services: 3% of your ticket goes to web services like Eventbrite, Squarespace, and other web-based support systems for the event.
Subsidized: We have 5 tickets, subsidized by donations from the community, to accommodate those experiencing financial hardship, who would otherwise be unable to participate.
Early Bird: We offer the first 25 tickets at an early bird rate to bring in the immediate resources needed to move forward with our event.
Regular: Just that, regular tickets!
Last Chance: We offer a handful of last chance tickets. We work to find a balance between considerations - like catering headcount cutoffs - while still allowing those that only just learned about GMS (or just learned they could attend GMS) a way to come.
Kids and Young Kids: Because our lodging costs increase with every person who comes, we do charge for all kids. We offer two ticket prices, one for young kids, and one for older kids that will be joining the kids programming.
