Learn some tempting ways to make the most of what you grow this summer
About this Event

Let's get ready for the summer by exploring some exciting ways of using seasonal produce from our gardens, community gardens, or a the market or shop. By the end of this workshop you will...

  • Know which foods are in season over the summer months
  • Be able to make some beautiful summer recipes, including a seasonal cordial, a pickle, and a super garden/ foraged pesto.
  • Sow some herb and salad seeds to grow on at home and enjoy later in the summer.
Please bring two medium glass jars with lids with you if possible.
Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits will be provided - plus tasters of the recipes. We have accessible toilets and the site is wheelchair accessible. Please arrive from 5:45 for a 6pm start.
Children aged eight and over are welcome to attend with their grown up but please be aware that this workshop is aimed at adults.

Registration info:

Registration is essential as we have a limited number of spaces. Please do let us know if you can no longer come so we can pass your place to someone else.

We ask for a small donation to help avoid 'no shows' at events where spaces are limited. However...if the ticket donation is a barrier to you coming please email us at [email protected] and request a free place, no questions asked!

If you're a Friend of Railway Gardens use the secret code given when you sign up for £2 off! And if you want to become a Friend and get this regular discount, please click here.

And finally, we've got two more Green Thumbs in addition to this one:
- Learn to make your own compost and plant feeds on March 13th

- Learn to grow plants from seed or from cuttings on April 10th.

This event is generously funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

When you register you'll be added to the Railway Gardens mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time.
