Team members from the New York State Integrated Pest Management Program will be joining VINES to explore a few fundamental techniques for resilient gardening. This educational workshop welcomes current and aspiring gardeners to learn how to recognize common tomato and cucumber diseases, how to choose disease resistant plant varieties and how to add flowers that feed “good” pest-eating insects. Petra from family farm, Fruition Seeds, will join us to share seeds so that you can try some of these techniques in your own garden this year.NYSIPM is a part of Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. They advance research and education on options to manage pests while protecting human, environmental, and economic health.
This workshop is FREE and open to the public. A suggested donation of $5-$10 is appreciated.
