To celebrate International Day of Women and Girls In Science, join Green Screen Windsor and Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire Bat Group on Sunday 15th February from 2pm, for a screening of "The Invisible Mammal". We open the 2026 program with the award winning feature length documentary about bat conservation and women in science.
The Invisible Mammal follows an all-woman team of biologists who set out to save bats from a deadly fungal disease. When the COVID-19 pandemic interrupts their work, they are sent down a path of discovery that illuminates the connections between bat conservation and the spread of infectious disease.
In this intensely cinematic film, bats are rendered poetically visible: spectacularly streaming out of caves or bridges,
or cradled in a gloved hand, wings extended. This film follows a team of scientists trying to save bats from the deadly White-Nose Syndrome, which is putting North American bats at threat of extinction.
At once a nature film, a science film, and a character-driven adventure film, "The Invisible Mammal" will immerse
you in the world of bats and forever change the way you feel about these amazing little creatures.
Green Screen Windsor is an eco film hub focused on environmental awareness, sustainability, and community engagement.
Join us at 2.00pm for refreshments and a chance to meet and socialise.
The film will start at 3.00pm. As this is longer than our previous films, there won't be a Q & A afterwards. Instead the bar will be open for any who would like to have a drink and chat.
