The Green Lunch Series will delve into topics such as energy, food security, equity and gender, smart growth, land use, transportation, materials, and emerging innovations. Through engaging speakers, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, we aim to explore the positive future envisioned by millions worldwide, with a keen focus on local perspectives and solutions.
Please join us on Tuesday, September 9th from 12:00PM- 1:00PM at the Athens Public Library in their large conference room. Lou Helenberger, an AmeriCorps member with Rural Action's Sustainable Agriculture program will present on: O' Appalachian Woman: A Poetry-Based Analysis of Appalachian Women's Experiences with Environmental Justice. Join Lou to investigate intersections of gender, the arts, and environmental justice in Appalachia! We will cover Appalachian women's use of poetry as a means to portray their feelings about environmental justice.
