Celebrate Green Issaquah Day! Join us for a special planting event at Anthology Open Space in partnership with Green Issaquah.
About this Event

Join Trout Unlimited (TU) and the Lake Sammamish Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership (UWRP) as we partner with Green Issaquah for the annual GREEN ISSAQUAH DAY!

After months of fantastic work by community volunteers to remove invasive plants from the wetland area along a section of Tibbetts Creek, we're celebrating with a tree planting event. Planting more trees will help us meet the Issaquah Climate Action Plan goal of 55% tree canopy cover by 2035. Come be an active part of this history!

Event Details
Meet at 9:00 am at the start of the boardwalk along 19th Ave NW, across from the Rowley Storage Units. Volunteers will be using shovels and other tools to plant natvie trees and cut and dig more blackberry out to make space for additional plantsings this winter.

All community members are welcome, and no experience necessary!

Reserve your spot online. Registration will close at 5:00 pm the day before the event.

W hat to bring

  • Closed-toed shoes are required, such as hiking boots, tennis shoes, or rain boots. Digging will be muddy.
  • Don’t forget your water, snacks, and any additional layers to keep yourself comfortable while you’re out.
  • We will provide the know-how, gloves, and tools, for everyone to be successful.

P arking
Volunteers will park 19th Ave NW in the public parking spaces. Carpooling recommended.

Accessibility
This event is family friendly and open to all ages. Stewardship activities will take place on uneven ground including grass, dirt, and boardwalk trails. There are no restroom facilities on site. We understand everyone experiences the outdoors differently and we are open to working with anyone that needs additional support. Please contact us in advance so that we can do our best to accommodate your needs and/or find a way for you or your group to have fun participating in our event.
