Green Girls is a free drop-off program that introduces middle school-age girls to a possible career in science and research through hands-on activities and learning (indoor and outdoor). All events are free and will be held from 1:00 – 5:00 pm! For all Green Girls lessons, please wear closed-toed shoes that you are comfortable getting wet in and bring a reusable water bottle, hat, sunscreen, and bug spray if needed.

»» Join us for a lesson on air quality issues in North Carolina, including the environmental and human health effects of burning trash and wildfires. Participants will also learn about air quality monitoring and forecasting, and how studying local lichen populations can teach us about the health of our air. We will also take a short hike around Price Park.
