About this Event

About the Book

Muslims are compelled by their religion to praise their Creator, pray, fast and give charity. But what is not widely known is that there are deep and long-standing connections between Islamic teachings and environmentalism. In this ground breaking book, Ibrahim Abdul-Matin draws on research, scripture and interviews with Muslims to trace Islam’s profound dedication to human-kinds collective role as stewards of the Earth.

You may purchase the book from Wardah Books.

About Seekers Book Club

Seekers Book Club by Maktaba Books aims to bring together individuals from different backgrounds to read various books from an Islamic, Singaporean, and/or Southeast Asian lens. Whether the text is secular or set in an unfamiliar culture, there is always something within a book that each of us can resonate (or disagree!) with.

That shared space is what drives this book club. With each participant’s unique experience and perspective grounded in religion and identity, we discuss our thoughts on a common area found within the pages of a book.
