🚀🚀Green Careers & Skills for Sustainability Professionals is an interactive session that explores career pathways in sustainability and the key skills needed to succeed in green roles. Students will gain insight into the sustainability job market, learn how to identify and articulate their transferrable skills, and take part in practical group exercises designed to build confidence in communicating their strengths to employers.
📚This practical session is open to all degree disciplines and relevant to all career stages in offering insight into the current sustainability jobs landscape and the wide range of roles.
🏢The session begins with a short introduction to the green jobs landscape, including real opportunities across sectors and an overview of the and its Green Careers Hub . From there, you’ll take part in small-group activities to identify skills you’ve already developed through study, work, volunteering, or extracurriculars — even the ones you might be overlooking.
💡Using real-world examples from sustainability roles, you’ll explore how these skills translate into green careers and how to communicate them clearly in applications, interviews, and on LinkedIn. You’ll leave with practical tools, clearer direction, and greater confidence in selling your strengths to employers.
🥸The Strathclyde Green Office will also be hosting a Green Careers Fair with ethical and environmentally and socially concious companies with a PhD-Led Academic Pathway stalls.
