Your Move.Ready to be a force for environmental change? 🎉 We are excited to host you for the eighth cleanup and workshop covering Energy, on Saturday, January 10th at Thrive Nature Park and Thrive, Lewisville. This workshop is part of the Green Ambassador Certificate 12-module community education series. Hear from industry experts @Ira Nicodemus and @Krishnan Raghunathan, engage in interactive exercises, and explore real-world solutions. Fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas, are non-renewable resources that take hundreds of millions of years to form. They are also finite, and we'll hit "peak" extraction difficulty before they're completely gone. Fossil fuels, when burned to produce energy, cause 75% greenhouse gas emissions, global warming, intense weather and rising sea levels, and disturb the ecological balance. This makes renewable energy crucial as it comes from natural sources or processes that are replenished at a higher rate than they are consumed.
✅ Monthly Classes: Every 2nd Saturday, 10:30–11:30 AM.
✅ Refreshments: Light refreshments served at workshop venue, bring a reusable bottle of water 9:30-10:30 AM.
✅ Community Cleanups: Same day, 8:30–9:30 AM.
