Ever feel like your deal is going great.....and then the appraisal shows up like a bad blind date?
Well, Greater Downtown MIBOR is excited to present our next meeting: “Date the Appraiser.”
This interactive, round-table style event is designed to create open dialogue, real education, and stronger collaboration between Realtors and appraisers — all in a relaxed, engaging format.
How it works:
We’ll feature three local appraisers, each stationed at their own table. Realtors will rotate in small groups of approximately 6–10 agents every 15-20 minutes, giving you the opportunity to spend focused time with each appraiser, ask questions, and discuss real-world scenarios.
Topics will include:
- What’s changing in the appraisal industry (regulations, technology, timelines, lender expectations)
- How appraisals are calculated — and how Realtors can better support the process
- Low appraisals: how to respond, challenge appropriately, and help protect the deal
The goal of this event is simple:
To strengthen relationships, improve understanding, and help Realtors feel more confident navigating the appraisal process in today’s market.

As part of our Q1 community give-back initiative, we’ll be accepting dry food donations for Gleaners Food Bank at our February meeting.
