TOURNAMENT RULES
1. CERTIFICATION: This tournament is sanctioned by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and as such is governed strictly by the rules and regulations of that organization.
2.AGE DIVISIONS: will be as follows: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16. U18 All ages will be as of 08-01-2025.
U8 Born 8/1/2017 or later
U10 Born 8/1/2015 – 7/31/2017
U12 Born 8/1/2013 – 7/31/2015
U14 Born 8/1/2011 – 7/31/2013
U16 Born 8/1/2009 – 7/31/2011
U18 Born 8/1/2007 – 7/31/2009
3. TEAMS must consist of one (1) Greater Bloomington USBC youth bowler who is a certified member for the 2024-2025 bowling season with a Greater Bloomington USBC and one (1) Adult.
4. ADULT BOWLERS are defined as age 18 or older who are not bowling in a youth league.
5. MULTIPLE PARTICIPATION will be allowed. However, the youth bowler may only cash once per division bowled.
6. ALL TEAMS will bowl 3 games, no bumpers will be allowed.
7. YOUTH ENTRANTS will use the current GBUSBC Certified League average from 2024-2025 season, as of 2/15/2026.
8. ADULT ENTRANTS must submit averages in the following manner:
a) Highest league average from the 2024-2025 season.
b) Highest league average from current season, 2024-2025 of 21 games or more.
c) If the bowler does not have a league average, they will receive handicap based on the series bowled. Any adult may be re-rated in accordance with USBC rules.
9. ADULTS will observe Rule 319a (10 pin rule)
10. If any participant is found to be ineligible under the rules of this tournament, the entire team will be disqualified.
11. Make checks payable to GBUSBC. $40.00 fee for any returned checks.
12. No entry will be refunded after the team has begun bowling.
13. For Adult Bowlers, handicap will be calculated as follows:
90% of 230.
Where average exceeds the scratch figure, no handicap will be allowed.
14. For Youth Bowlers, handicap will be calculated as follows:
90% of 220 for all divisions.
Where average exceeds the scratch figure, no handicap will be allowed.
15. AWARD ratio will be at least 1 in 4.
16. Scholarships (SMART) will be awarded to the youth bowler of the winning teams. All prize fund money will be returned 100%.
17. All teams should check in 1/2 hour prior to squad time if possible.
18. LATE ENTRIES: Day of tournament entries will be permitted as space allows up to 30 minutes prior to squad time, with a $5.00 late entry fee. We recommend early entry sign ups.
19. 10 minutes of practice will be given before Tournament play begins. No other practice before Tournament play allowed.
20. Teams and members arriving late will be allowed but no score will be given for frames missed.
21. No pacers will be allowed.
22. In the event of a tie, a roll-off will not occur, rather both teams will receive an award.
23. The action of the Tournament Officials will be final unless an appeal is made in accordance with Rule 329. Protests must be made before Tournament awards are presented.
24. No one is permitted to eat or drink in the bowling area. Only bowlers and Tournament management are allowed in the bowling area.
25. No tobacco or alcohol is to be used/consumed by bowlers or spectators during tournament play.
26. Use of any foreign substance such as talcum powder or moistening of shoe sole surface is strictly prohibited.
27. All score keepers shall be provided by GBUSBC Association.
28. DRESS CODE: Collared shirt, a bowling center t-shirt, or jersey preferred but not required. No improper wording, symbols, etc. are to be displayed.
29. All cell phones and electronic devices should be silenced.
