A record amount of β¬14,405 has been raised from the Great Wild Atlantic Marathon Walks of 2024. This brings the total raised for the RNLI from eight years of walks to β¬73,012. The Walk committee wish to thank everyone who took part or contributed to this yearβs event, which is a joint initiative between Courtmacsherry Lifeboat Station and the local Barryroe GAA Club in the promotion of the Respect the Water Campaign, with the entire proceeds going to the Lifeboat. A big thank you to all the volunteers who gave of their time to help make the main Walk-Day such a great success and to the many sponsors who support this initiative year after year.Walks 2025 are planned for Sunday 24th August 2025 and it will be a very special day. In 1825 the first RNLI lifeboat arrived in Ireland and this was to Courtmacsherry. Next year Courtmacsherry Harbour Lifeboat will be commemorating this 200th Anniversary of having a lifeboat in the village with many great events.
