The Cars were an American dream machine that featured sleek guitar lines and the latest in synth technology driven relentlessly forward by a propulsive beat. This band from Boston came roaring onto the track with a debut album that went from zero to six million copies sold, staying on the Billboard album chart for two-and-a-half years. But their eyes were always on the road ahead, and with each new vinyl model they released, The Cars consolidated their reputation as a vehicle of both innovative craftsmanship and crowd-pleasing satisfaction.
