About this Event
Taste a dessert to find the puzzle hidden within; retrieve a burner phone from under a park bench; strike up a conversation with a seeming passer-by. These are just a sample of the visual, auditory, and tactile clues your team will need to interact with in order to advance through an epic citywide scavenger hunt like out of an episode from "The Amazing Race." Are you ready to uncover secret locations and perform interactive tasks in order to be crowned top clue hunter?
Join New York Adventure Club and Great Gotham Challenge for an immersive neighborhood scavenger hunt that will task teams with uncovering anything-but-obvious challenges throughout portions of New York City. In this version: Vanguards of The Village, teams will race through Greenwich Village to visit haunts and actors-in-disguise associated with the captivating cadre of artists, hippies, and musicians who defined the neighborhood's identity.
Upon completing the adventure, your team will be directed to a secret hangout spot to debrief with your fellow adventurers over food and drinks, which will be available for purchase! The team with the best finishing time and most accurate answers will go home victorious.

*Forming your own team of 3-6 people in advance of the event is recommended. If you don't have a team, please arrive 15 minutes early to be matched with teammates.
**Please bring a water bottle and comfortable pair of shoes as you'll be doing a lot of walking!
***Since questions and clues are shared through a website that's easily accessible by phone, all participants should have a fully-charged mobile device.
****This experience will end in the Meatpacking District. Teams will be encouraged to attend a post-event hangout, which will have food and drinks available for purchase.
*****No staff members will remain at the starting point after the experience begins, so please don't be late
HOW IT WORKS
Registration: We recommend forming your own team of 3-6 people. Advance registration is required. Each participant must purchase a ticket.
Gameplay: Using Great Gotham Challenge's state-of-the-art web app, visual, auditory, and tactile clues prompt challengers to race between secret locations and perform interactive tasks in order to advance to the next clue. This might mean tasting a dessert to find the puzzle hidden within, retrieving a burner phone from under a park bench, receiving a keyword on a napkin in a speakeasy, or striking up a conversation with a seeming passer-by. Once you've solved all the clues, teams join each other again at the finish line to share food, drink, and tales of their experiences.
Other: Teams in the field can contact the cluemaster for help at any time through the web app.
