The Great Global Greyhound Walk is an annual dog-walking event that brings together greyhounds, lurchers, other sighthounds and their owners to raise awareness of the breeds and show the public just what wonderful pets they make.Meet 11AM in the Trafalgar Centre car park. We will walk up Trafalgar Street for a photo on the Nelson Church Steps.
The theme for each walk is set by the global organisers & this year the theme is FLAGS. We want to make it a bit more fun over here in Aotearoa so we are tweaking the theme a little to be "FLAG YOUR FANCY." What does this mean? We encourage you to dress your greyhound and yourself (if you want to dress up at all, it's not required) in a flag that represents the things that you love and are passionate about. If that is your country flag then that is wonderful, but it can also be the flag of your favourite sports team or Harry Potter House. If your interests are super niche and no official flag exists, then have fun and create your own, we would love to see it! Also, this is the perfect chance to once again fly the "Flag of the Greyhound," - those flags are available to purchase in The Great Stuff Shop.
