About this Event

Join a member of the Great Fen team on a guided walk of Woodwalton Fen National Nature Reserve. We will help you identify which birds are singing as the sun rises over this historic wildlife site on International Dawn Chorus Day. Bring your binoculars.

Taking place on the first Sunday of May, International Dawn Chorus Day is the worldwide celebration of nature's greatest symphony. All across the world people rise early to revel in the sweet sound of birdsong, from rattling wrens in Rotherham to crooning cowbirds in the Caribbean.

Cost: £12 Wildlife Trust BCN Members, £18 Non-member

Time: 5.30am-7.30am

Pre-booking is essential.

Attendees should park at the far end of Chapel Road on the bank of the Great Raveley Drain and meet at the Woodwalton Fen Nature Reserve entrance bridge.

Please note, toilets will not be accessible for this event. Please also be aware that there are a large number of ticks and other biting insects at Woodwalton Fen, so long trousers tucked into socks and closed-toe footwear is recommended. An insect repellent is also useful.
