About this Event
The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann on a 2.5-mile hike and participate in this annual, international event. Using your smart phone, we’ll show you how you can help scientists identify birds at Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve.
** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.
ACTIVITY: This will be a moderate to difficult hike due to sandy soil and uphill climbs.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: Ages ten and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing for the outdoors
WHAT TO BRING: water, bug spray, sunscreen, binoculars, smart phone (binoculars and phone are not required to participate)
FACILITIES: There will be a port-a-let but no running water on site.
