September 21. 9am-noon. Great American River Clean UpMeet at Howe Ave River Access Parking Lot
On Saturday, September 21, 2024 help your community and connect with other Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. The Sac Valley RPCVs are in charge of the Howe Ave. American River Clean Up site. Nancy Sinnwell and Jim Waters will be site coordinators and would love to see lots of RPCVs there. Walk along the paths and bicycle trails near the river and collect trash. We’d love you to participate for all three hours, but would be happy to see you for one or two. Be sure to sign up for the Howe Avenue site. ARPF provides trash bags, gloves, water, and a light snack. Wear sturdy/comfortable closed-toe shoes, hat, long pants, long-sleeves, gloves, sunscreen, & bug spray. Bring water! Take breaks & learn the signs of heat exhaustion. If you want a trash grabber please bring your own. If you have a kayak or small water craft, you could collect garbage in the water from along the edges of the river.
Parking is free during the Clean-Up. SacRT is offering free rides to the Clean-Up, but you must have a GARCU flyer. See the GARCU site for details. https://arpf.org/events/garcu/
