Historically, the Pacific Northwest has been a bad place to be, either a poor or unlucky sailor, and there are over 5000 shipwrecks around Vancouver Island alone. If these shipwrecks occurred on the exposed west coast, they usually didn’t last very long, but there are multiple amazing diving opportunities to be had on the inside coast in more protected areas.Guy Shockey has been diving these wrecks for nearly 30 years and has put together a presentation that includes a “highlight reel” of some of the “must dives” in the waters around Vancouver Island, Puget Sound, and even some of the larger lakes in the PNW. This presentation will include updates on some of the more recent exploration efforts and ongoing identification and surveys of PNW wrecks.
