Show Description
Join GRAVEN (Matty McKechnie) and KESTREL BLUE (Michael Lisinski) for an evening of singer-songwriter music with an artistic edge. This is music to spur both the heart and mind -- we can promise everyone who attends an evening to treasure.
Bios
GRAVEN (Matty McKechnie) is an independent folk-rock singer-songwriter from Ottawa, Canada. An innovative Nepean-born songmaker with a key focus on cultivating joy and wonder in Canadian geography, Matty (Graven) is a wiley wordsmith whose passion is to create a highly accepting and inclusive community of music lovers. KESTREL BLUE (Michael Lisinski) is a project that blends opposites: solo and band, folk and post-punk, punk energy with attention to detail. What ties these elements together is one central ethic: "eleven chords and the truth".
Accolades
Graven has toured extensively and released 13 albums. His 202 release was produced by Jim Bryson (The Tragically Hip, The Weakerthans, Kathleen Edwards) and his 2022 album Simple Complex features contributions by Joel Plaskett. Kestrel Blue has performed success shows at Live On Elgin, Queen St. Fare, The Rainbow, and Avant-Garde Bar, and has frequently collaborated with other musicians in Ottawa's alternative music scene.
