About this Event
With times being pretty far from great right now, it is important to come together with community, take a deep breath, and share in our gratitude. Leaning into joy is vital, it is how we get through hard times. To quote Maya Angelou, “We need joy as we need air. We need love as we need water. We need each other as we need the earth we share.”
With that, the Bigfoot Poetry Festival is announcing the Gratitude Poetry Open Mic.
This event is a space for poets to bring their most gracious, praising of, joy-ridden work. We are asking that all poems in this mic be geared towards the theme of gratitude. Whether this is a love poem about your partner, a poem praising cheesecake, an ode to your favorite TV show, a piece about how amazing trees are - whatever gratitude looks like to you. We are looking for poems that are defiant in their uplifting nature.
