Gratitude & Impermanence through Earth Altaring
Come connect with the earth and express your gratitude through the beautiful art of earth altaring.
During this event, you’ll discover the joy of creating a temporary, sacred space for Pachamama, our Earth Mother. We’ll explore the practice of “earth altaring” (arranging natural items like flowers, fallen leaves, pinecones, and seeds into stunning designs on the earth). It’s a mindful way to show appreciation for the beauty Mother Earth so generously shares with us.
Throughout the experience, we’ll guide you through the seven foundational principles of the practice . These simple steps that deepen your connection to the land, the moment, and your own creative spirit. These principles will carry you from the very beginning of the process all the way through to the final moments of release.
Embrace the gentle lesson of impermanence: after we’ve reviewed our creations, taken a moment for quiet reflection or shared our experiences, we’ll either gently return the elements to the earth or leave our altars to be reclaimed by nature. It’s a beautiful way to give back to Gaia.
We’ll have a selection of natural items available, but feel free to bring your own special finds from your garden or local walks – anything natural is welcome. If you’d like to add floral beauty, please bring your favorite flowers, though some will be provided for the group.
Join us for a grounding and inspiring experience!
We will be outside for the entire session. Please bring water, sunscreen and bug spray if needed. You will be sitting and kneeling on the ground so feel free to bring towels or blankets to sit on.
This event is subject to weather and will be cancelled if it rains or there are high winds. Make sure to check the Chacana web site and Facebook if we are expecting rain.
Class will begin at 2 pm. Please check in at the front desk but then you will be directed to the yard behind the center.
