This is a favorite annual event where we express gratitude for our community and our history here at the Firehouse 5 🚒 Everyone will be given a brown paper bag to write their name on and hang in the back room. We will have tables and notecards for you all to write notes of gratitude appreciation to put in each other’s bags. The music will be more blues-centric and there will be an intermediate blues lesson as well as our usual fusion intro lesson. What to expect:
Fusion dancing allows you to blend different dance styles together to create a unique experience with each partner. The lesson covers core principles of partner dance such as frame, connection and musicality, and how to use them to dance with partners of all different backgrounds. Our teachers come from a wide range of dances and bring their own flavor and skill set to each lesson for new content every class. No partner or prior dance experience is required.
6:50PM to 7:00PM - Check-in and begin warm-up
7:00PM to 8:00PM - All-levels fusion Lesson taught by John Pek & Intermediate blues taught by Kate Worcester
8:00PM to 12:30AM - Social dance with THREE DJ's Cierra Tunquist, Philip Bell & Amanda Oyao
Cost:
$10 for the lesson
$15-20 sliding scale for the social dance
$20-25 sliding scale for the lesson + social dance
Please bring:
- Your photo ID
- Proof of your Covid-19 vaccination, a hard copy of your card or your CA digital vaccination record QR are both accepted. Find your QR here: https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/
-A water bottle, we have a refill station, let’s be sustainable!
- Comfortable clothing and shoes you can move in easily. Comfort is key!
-Theme nights are potlucks, bring a dish or non-alcoholic beverage to share 😛
