We are thrilled to bring back our most popular Saturday Morning Tunes show to one of our favorite venues, Ed Hough's Dead Collective at Power Plant Live!Ed Hough puts together some of the best touring musicians on the jam band scene, and that's true once again, as the lineup for this show is Ed Hough, Cris Jacobs, Kirk Kness, Sunny Trippel, Tim Pruitt and John Butte!
This show is presented by Race Pace Bicycles.
This is an outdoor show, in Power Plant Live's plaza, which has a partly covered stage area and tons of room to spread out and dance. Even so, in light of the uptick in Covid numbers, we will be limiting the capacity to less than half of what Power Plant Live's plaza typically holds.

Meet The Musicians:
Sunny Trippel (singer)
Whether getting tapped by Pink Talking Fish to sing “The Great Gig In The Sky”, or by John Kadlecik to sing spot-on versions of Grateful Dead songs, Sunny’s versatility is inspiring. Having just successfully debuted her new original project “Walking In The Air” at The Kennedy Center this summer, Sunny will be in the studio recording an album forthcoming in 2022. She also leads Sunny Trippel’s Friends Unlimited, a group that features many of the best musicians in the DMV. Rudi Greenberg of The Washington Post wrote that the members of that outfit are the “Murderer’s Row” of D.C. bands. Some of the artists Sunny has performed with include Roosevelt Collier, Sanjay Mishra, John “Papa” Gros, Ron Holloway Band, members of Tedeschi Trucks Band, Big Sam’s Funky Nation and countless touring Grateful Dead tribute bands.”
Ed Hough (drums, vocals)
Ed's roots go deep in Baltimore's Americana and jam band scenes, where he is among the most influential but also unassuming players. Whether singing and drumming (no easy feat) or playing guitar, Ed has a knack for bringing together some of the scenes' best musicians. Almost 20 years ago, Ed co-founded an acoustic band called Smooth Kentucky, featuring an up-and-coming guitarist named Cris Jacobs, and later, a prodigious violin player named Patrick McAvinue. Cris' other group, the Bridge (of which Ed also joined in from time to time), became one of Baltimore's most popular bands, and Patrick would pursue a successful music career in Nashville. All along, Ed shared his love of the Grateful Dead by playing tribute shows with various lineups of musicians. Among them were players like keyboardist Mookie Siegel, who had toured with Grateful Dead singer/guitarist Bob Weir and bassist Phil Lesh, and Cris Jacobs, who would go on to perform with Phil Lesh.
Cris Jacobs (guitar, vocals)
As the singer and guitarist in the Bridge, one of Baltimore's most popular Americana/jam bands of the past two decades – and later as a solo artist – Cris Jacobs has left a lasting impact on Baltimore's music scene. Cris' guitarwork and songwriting have earned respect from the scions of roots, jam and soul music, from Ivan Neville (son of Aaron Nevill) to Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead. A longtime friend, bandmate and collaborator with Ed Hough, Cris has released three solo albums and performs regularly solo and with his ace band in and around the mid-Atlantic.
Tim Pruitt (guitar, vocals)
A veteran of the Baltimore and DC music scenes for more than three decades, Tim has performed and recorded with New Potato Caboose, The Stone Hill All-stars, Arty Hill and the Long Gone Daddys, Smooth Kentucky, and Frankentractor.
John Butte (bass)
John Butte handles Bass and Bob Weir & Pigpen’s vocals for GD tribute band Better Off Dead. He also leads Butte and Friends – a Tedeschi Trucks-esque horn-fused ensemble. He’s an elementary school band director as well – getting kids started right!
Kirk Kness (keyboards)
