Most ages can attend. ~6 and up. Our safety gear must fit.
Registration is Required for this Self Guided Cave Experience.
To ensure that you get to experience the cave, show up a few minutes before your reserved time. There is a maximum number of people that are allowed in the cave at a time.
We'll supply safety gear including knee and elbow pads, helmets and headlamps.
Expect muddy conditions. Closed Toe shoes required.
Grassy Cove Cave is an undeveloped cave, appropriate for beginner cavers. The cave starts with some hands and knees crawling through a wide passage with some stalactites. After around 80 feet it becomes a walking passage with two pits in the floor that lead to a lower level. We will only explore about a third of the way through the cave. We will see cave crickets and likely some karst invertebrates.
Park along southbound Escarpment Blvd. Be courteous to cyclists and don't block the bike lane. There is also parking at the main entrance of the park and a short trail walk to the cave site.
