About this Event

What is GRASP's Annual Conference?

The GRASP Annual Conference is our network’s flagship event which brings together leading experts, members and decision makers in the private, public and not-for-profit sector. It is a space for GRASP members to connect with game changers and sector innovators through workshops and facilitated discussions to explore, ideate, collaborate, and generate new approaches that respond to the ever-changing needs, challenges and aspirations of young Romanian professionals globally.

What are this year's themes?

Participants will have the opportunity to explore key topics and share their expertise with experts in career development and entrepreneurship. Our themes for this year's annual conference are:

  • Progress - we will discuss in depth what we need to be thinking about for the future of work. We will explore the skills needed to thrive in your career, whether as an entrepreneur or in traditional employment.
  • Growth - together with professionals from around the world we will explore the barriers in fullfilling your career potential as well as the challenges of mental health and wellbeing in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

09:45am – Meet and Greet

10:00am – Welcome and opening remarks

10:15am – Keynote speech with Alexandru Grădinar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Kingdom of Denmark and Iceland

10:30am – Keynote speech with Chris Crespo, Co-founder of Nordic Fintech Magazine and Fast Forward Banking

10:45am – THE REALITY PANEL with Martin Justesen, Ana Todor, Daniel Bokor, Anton Vorobets and Chris Crespo (chair). Touching on questions such as “ What are my solutions if I don’t want a 9 to 5 job?” – “What’s the reality of being an entrepreneur or a freelancer abroad in 2021?” and “How do we equip ourselves to compete in a fast-paced, ever-changing market?”, this panel discussion will explore new models and approaches to developing future skills for young people embarking on a self-employed journey far away from home.

11:30am – Networking

11:50am – From feeling lost to finding direction: how coaching can unleash your potential. How often did you come to a point in your life where you felt confused about what it was that you were supposed to do, wanted to do, where you wanted to be and how you wanted to go about making a career or when it comes to your personal life? Coaching is well placed to help people address both personal and professional challenges. Mihaela Popa will introduce you briefly to the world of coaching, present a selection of coaching models and tools and invite you to practice on the spot.

12:50pm – Lunch and networking

13:50pm – A plan for my future self. Design thinking is a process for creative problem solving that has a human-centered core. The process starts with taking action and understanding the right questions while embracing simple mindset shifts and tackling problems from a new direction. Sandra Wdowiak will share how design thinking methodology can help you understand and plan the steps you need to take now in order to fulfill your career ambitions.

15:20pm – Keynote speech with Alexandru Filip, Managing Partner, McKinsey

15:40pm Networking

16:00pm – BURNING BRIGHT OR BURNING OUT with Maria Duduman, Cristina Montoro, Andrei Kurtuy, Ana Afteni and Ștefan Cibian (Chair). As the world of work is changing, people are now more than ever trying to find jobs that are satisfying, meaningful and enable them to achieve their full potential.
