Four acclaimed musicians respond in real time to "Inkblot", a mural by Denver-based graphic novelist and visual artist Dan Crosier.
Featuring:
Tenia Nelson – piano
Joshua Trinidad – trumpet
Mike Brown – bass
Cellista – cello, composer, organizer
The mural will be projected during the performance, serving as a graphic score: an image-based composition that invites musicians to interpret visual elements as sound. Originating in the avant-garde experiments of the 20th century, graphic scores blur the lines between notation and improvisation, inviting each performer to shape their own musical response.
Dan Crosier will be present for the performance. A Q&A with the artist and musicians will follow.
This event is a conversation between image and sound, memory and presence.
A one-night exploration of Denver’s creative rhythm.
