Hey kids and teens! Join us for fun workshops where you can create your own graphic novel and learn to share spooky stories with friends!Young Alberta Book Society and McCauley Community League present three workshops, Telling Spooky Stories, aWorkshop for kids 7 to 12, Telling Spooky Stories, a Workshop geared for teens 13+, and a Graphic Novel Creation Workshop for Teens 13+. Limited space available. Free registration. Sponsered by the Edmonton Arts Council and the City of Edmonton.
In these interactive workshops kids and teens will be able to explore the creation of their own Graphic Novel or learn to share Spooky Stories with friends and family.
Creating Graphic Novels: Oct 3, 6:15-8:30 pm (with a break)
Telling spooky stories : Oct 19,1:30-2:30: Age 7-12, 3:00-4:00: Age 13+
Meet your intructiors:
Carolyn Fisher: Creating graphic novels for teens 13+. Award-winning artist and author Carolyn Fisher has been drawing pictures and writing stories for her whole life. Carolyn has talked to thousands of kids in libraries and schools about writing and art. She draws and writes in her studio in Capitol Hill, Calgary.
Gail de Vos: Telling spooky stories for kids and teens. Storyteller, librarian and former teacher, Gail de Vos has been an active promoter of the oral tradition of literature in Alberta for over three decades.
