This year the Granville Farmers Market will join markets across the country in celebrating National Farmers Market Week with a special market on Saturday, August 9th. Market hours are 8:30 am to Noon. We have lined up a number of special features and attractions to mark this special day of the year.First off, we will host our 10th Annual Tomato Taste-Off event between 9 and 11 am. This is an opportunity for you to sample multiple varieties of farm fresh tomatoes from our tomato growing vendors under special tents in the center of the Market space. We’ll have a wide variety so come on down, try them all, and vote for the one you think is ‘Best Tasting’. Once you’ve identified your personal favorite you’ll want to buy a bunch of them while they’re at their absolute peak of flavor.
Also happening throughout the morning we’ll have the Lynd Fruit Farm Barrel Train Ride running through the Market as well as a market-themed scavenger hunt for the kids to enjoy. There will be a drum circle welcoming kids and adults to show their skills and 100.3 T-100 Radio WCLT will be on site doing a remote live broadcast from 9 to 11 am, brought to you by Olde Village Meats and the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce.
