You won't want to miss this exciting night for the whole family on Saturday 9th November at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway, with the Grand Opening! From the metal-crunching mayhem of the Superstocks and Stockcars battling it out on the track to the Sensational Super Saloons, the AFC Motorcycles Ray Tarrant Sidecar Memorial, the DMR Metal Recyclers Ramp Demolition Derby race, add the Manawatu Standard Fireworks Spectacular and you have a recipe for exciting entertainment.Combining raw power with a distinctive sound, this is the pinnacle class of Speedway - the Superstocks will hit the track with grit, steel, and determination to be at the front of the pack. The V8 engines will make the ground shake, and the drivers love to put on a show for the fans!
Metal crunching Stockcars will be battling it out on Saturday night for the chequered flag. Side-by-side and bumper-to-bumper, these drivers mean business, with their fearless attitude and willingness to put on a show its anyone’s guess who will carry the chequered flag at the end of the race!
Super Saloons add to a packed show at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway racing wheel-to-wheel. The wide tyres and big fibreglass bodies add another style of speedway racing which is proving popular not only with drivers but the spectators alike.
The AFC Motorcycles Ray Tarrant Memorial trophy should draw an excellent field of Sidecars from far and wide. Ray was the announcer here at the Speedway for many years and was an ardent supporter of Sidecars, so this championship for the class is always particularly special. With a quality field of sidecar competitors all in title contention, these daredevil rider and swinger combinations make for some spectacular racing.
A field of road cars with windows and headlights removed will battle it out for the always popular DMR Metal Recyclers Ramp Demolition Derby. Extra thrills and spills are provided by a ramp that must be negotiated during their travels around the C.E.T. Arena, along with duelling the other maniacs on the track. This is always great family entertainment and will leave you in fits of laughter!
Finishing the night with the Manawatu Standard Fireworks Spectacular, the most impressive and biggest Fireworks display in the Manawatu will light up the night sky.
