About this Event
Grafting is the process in which two separate living plants are joined together and continue growing as a single plant. It's the way virtually all fruit trees are grown today and has been practiced for thousands of years. In this class we'll look briefly at the history of grafting, how it works and practise basic grafting techniques. This class will provide you with the knowledge to graft your own plants at home and/or come back to a second class in the new year when we'll graft actual fruit trees to take home.
About the teacher: Anna Williams is the Project Manager for Cyfoeth Y Coed. She took The Orchard Project's Certificate in Community Orcharding in 2021 to '22. This was a transformative experience and the start of a growing interest in fruit trees. Anna belives that everyone can grow their own fruit and enjoys sharing what she's learnt.
