About this Event
Join the Graduate Student Council and your fellow graduate students for a night at TopGolf San Jose on October 31st from 5:30-10:00 PM! This event is open to 100 graduate students and their guests and each ticket will require a $20 co-pay and $20 deposit ($40 total with the deposit being returned upon attendance). Due to the presence of alcohol at the venue + venue policy, this event is open only to those who are 21+ (no exceptions). Each ticket includes 3 hours of gameplay, buffet-style dinner (with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options available), and transportation to and from Stanford. For an additional $6, you may also purchase a subsidized drink ticket, which will work for alcoholic drinks and mocktails (limit of 2 per guest).Please note that drink tickets will be on-sale between October 25th-October 29th, after the lottery for general admission tickets has been run (we will notify attendees when drink tickets become available). Bus transportation is REQUIRED for this event; this includes non-Stanford guests. Bus pickup will be at the Manzanita Field Garage Turnaround (On Jane Stanford Wy Near Campus Dr, Stanford, CA 94305) between 5:30-5:45 PM and return to the same location by 10 PM.
We will be allocating tickets through a lottery system. This means that you may lock in your lottery slot by paying for your ticket(s) between October 18th and October 21st. Sales will begin at 12 PM on October 18th and remain open until 11:59 PM on October 21st. If you are selected through the lottery, we will then keep your payment and return your deposit upon attendance. If you are not selected, you will be fully refunded for the ticket(s) and placed on a waitlist. If spots become available, we will email the entire waitlist and whoever claims them first will take them. We will run the lottery on October 22nd and notify people of their status between October 22-25th. This is a new system we are trying in order to make ticket access more fair but we appreciate your patience as we test this out :)
We will also have 8 volunteer spots. These will be first-come, first-serve and will require a $40 deposit, which will be returned fully upon successful volunteering. These tickets are exempt from the lottery so if you grab one of these tickets, you're ensured a spot + we waive the co-pay (essentially making the event free!). Both Stanford students and their guests may volunteer.
For people selected through the lottery, please note that we do not issue refunds for cancellations, except in cases of documented sickness/emergencies. You are free to sell your ticket(s) to people on the waitlist if you can no longer attend but we are not responsible for this. Therefore, we ask that you only join the lottery if you know you can make it. We will release the waitlist on the week of October 21st.
And since we're hosting on Halloween night, we're encouraging you to come in costume (as long as it's not dangerous to golfing lol)! This is not required but highly encouraged :)
