You are cordially invited to attend GraceWay Church’s 3rd Annual Kirkin' O' the Tartans or "Blessing of the Families," on Sunday, October 27th, 2024 at 10:00 AM. The renowned Mount Dora Pipe Band under the direction of Joe McKie will be joining us again this year.
The “Kirkin’ is an annual event where Scottish clans (extended families) present themselves before the Lord and pledge themselves and their “kith and kin” in renewed fidelity to the King of Kings.
The Presbyterian Church traces its origin to the Church of Scotland. "Kirk" is the Gaelic word for "Church." Tartans represent specific Scottish clans, regions, or regiments with their distinctive plaids. The "Kirkin' O' The Tartans" is the presentation of a Scottish family's symbol, its tartan, at their church for blessing. Beyond the particular heritage of Scotland and its people, GraceWay’s Kirkin' is intended to encourage all participants to reflect with thanksgiving on their own family and ethnic heritage, and to celebrate God's grace poured out upon them for all generations.
Come dressed in your Scottish regalia and represent your Clan as we rededicate our families to God.
