A Sunday challenge event open to all to help raise funds for Hope for Belper.This is a 4 hour event where you have to collect as many points as possible.
All checkpoints are mainly WEST of Belper, so using the quieter roads.
Bike: Road or Gravel (There are some slightly off road checkpoints)
As you pass the checkpoints you will get the points.
Further away or more difficult checkpoints will be awarded more points.
You will need the iOrienteering app (https://www.iorienteering.com/) on your phone (Android and iPhone app available)
This will record your progress and keep a tally of your score as you pass the checkpoints.
Different checkpoints will have different values depending on distance ans difficulty
You will get the map (paper and on phone) on the day of the event when you arrive and after you are instructed to pass the start point.
START: The Devonshire Pub, Belper
PLEASE DO NOT USE THE PUB CAR PARK
Field Lane or Coppice car park is available.
Your 4 hours will include any planning time at the beginning.
There will be a briefing at 10am to go over the event.
You can ride solo or groups (max 4 people)
Cost - £5/£7 per person (members/non members)
There are almost 60 possible checkpoints between Belper, Wirksworth and Carsington Water.
There will be prizes for various positions on the leaderboard
(not just 1st place)
