This fireside chat brings together Opencast with a key digital decision maker from the Department for Work and Pensions to discuss their strategy and how they navigate fast-moving changes in technology. The conversation offers the opportunity to hear how a major central government deparment approaches its challenges and ensures that its outcomes are in line with the needs of the people who use public services.

About Jack Hanson

Jack Hanson is the Director for Core Digital Services (CDS) at DWP Digital. CDS is responsible for creating, maintaining, developing and integrating DWP's large shared digital platforms, including its customer information system, central payments system and suite of remediated virtual eachine environment systems.

She has had a long and varied career in the civil service, beginning as a DHSS visiting officer in Glasgow, before moving into training and finance roles before settling into professional project and programme delivery. Over the last 20 years, she has specialised in digital delivery, where she is a key contributor to the development of DWP's strategic architecture and the plans to modernise services.

Investing in individuals and building engaged and motivated teams is a distinct theme throughout Jack’s career, and she is committed to developing an inclusive and diverse environment in digital. She mentors across government and is a strong advocate for women in technology.
