Governance Fundamentals is an interactive workshop designed to support new and established trustees of Māori Land Trusts and Marae to navigate their governance responsibilities effectively, so that they can lead with confidence and purpose.
Whether you’re newly appointed or have years of experience, this session will help strengthen your understanding of governance best practices, financial oversight, compliance obligations, and strategic leadership – all within a kaupapa Māori framework.
What participants will learn:
• A clear understanding of trustee roles and responsibilities
• Tools for effective decision-making and risk management
• Insights into financial reporting and accountability
• Strategies to uphold collective responsibility and maintain strong trustee relationships
• Real-life case studies relevant to Māori Trusts
