About this Event
Join us on a journey through the histories of Govan. From work-ins and red roses to rent strikes and the arms trade, find out about some of the people and movements that have shaped the area over the years.
Summer special! At the end of this tour there will be the opportunity to stay for a meal in Galgael's beautiful community garden. More details will be sent out closer to the time.
Meet at the statue of Isabella Elder in Elderpark. The walk will last approximately 2 hours and will finish at GalGael, 15 Fairley Street G51 2SN. The distance is about 2 miles.
If you would struggle to walk this distance please keep an eye out for our George Square tour which will be happening in July, this has been developed with minimal walking and more opportunities for seated breaks.
Pricing: we have introduced a small charge for the tours this year, this is mainly to prevent no-shows. If you are able then contributing at the solidarity rate helps cover the costs of researching and delivering the tours, as well as purchasing radical tat/highly important social history artefacts for people to have a look at on the tours. If the cost is in any way a barrier to you taking part, please just drop us a line and we will sort you out with free tickets.
