Gourds 101Saturday, November 23rd at 10 am

Join us for a creative and educational experience exploring the fascinating world of gourds. In this two part workshop, you’ll learn about the rich history and cultural significance of gourds, from ancient civilizations to modern times. Then, tap into your artistic side as we guide you through painting and decorating your own gourd masterpiece.
A $10 cash donation to the Texas Gourd Society is required to participate in the workshop portion of the class. All materials will be provided, and your donation will support the preservation and appreciation of gourd art in Texas.
About the speaker:
Rona Thornton has been involved with gourds and the Texas Gourd Society since 1996. She is currently the TGS Treasurer, Community Outreach Coordinator, and manages Imagination Station - a free Make & Take area of the Lone Star Gourd Festival. She has facilitated programs for garden clubs, libraries, schools, home school groups, Girl Scouts, art foundation camps, senior centers, and assisted living communities. She likes to share her knowledge of gourds, gourd art, and gardening with the public.
