Learn how to use acrylic paints and techniques to create paintings on gourds. All supplies are provided. for ages 16 and older
Painting a decorative gourd that may be cut into a container or a birdhouse, (instructions for doing that on your own). Gourd design books will be available for students to look through to get ideas. Each person's gourd will be unique and different.
A short discussion on gourds and uses as well as designs for decoration. How to transfer and translate that design from a flat paper to a 3D gourd. Assistance in picking designs, transferring, and drawing then painting the designs onto the gourds.
NOTE: Acrylic paints are hard to get out of clothing. If acrylic paint gets on your clothes try to wash it off right away. Or better yet, wear something that you don’t mind getting a bit messy, just in case. Acrylic is a polymer that grabs onto and sticks to all kinds of surfaces
